NCBA CLUSA support of international communities began in 1945 when we participated in the founding of CARE (Cooperative for American Remittances to Europe) to aid in rebuilding war torn Europe. In 1953, NCBA CLUSA began working with Indian farmers to form a cooperative helping to revolutionize the nation’s fertilizer industry. Today, that cooperative known as the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), is the largest member-owned fertilizer cooperative in the world. For more than 60 years, NCBA CLUSA has been active in more than 100 countries through over 200 programs transforming rural communities, building democratic institutions, and providing technical assistance to group businesses, civil society organizations (CSOs), non-governmental organizations, local governments, and farmer associations and cooperatives.

NCBA CLUSA's Conservation Agriculture Promotion (PROMAC) will continue the Government of Norway’s (GoN) agriculture development work in the upper Zambezia, the Angonia plateau, and the Barue regions of northern Mozambique. The GoN has been working with NCBA CLUSA International since 2007 to support the production, promotion and marketing of soya beans in Mozambique. The goal of PROMAC is to contribute to the long-term, sustainable increase of food security and farmer incomes through the adoption of conservation agriculture practices.

Utilizing mobile technology a significant part of data collection, monitoring and appraisal will be done in real time at the point of service delivery.
