The Act of A Fool - Kids Story and Kids Activity Book.

Once upon a time there were two friends a donkey and a jackal. Though it was a mismatched friendship but still they were getting along with each other very well.

The jackal lived in a jungle and the donkey lived in a village nearby. They both used to meet at night. Then they go in the fields in search of food together when the farmers went asleep.

The donkey used to graze the crops and the jackal hunt for small animals for food in the fields. They did their work secretly so that the farmer could not know this.

The donkey was very foolish and the jackal was clever. One night they both filled their stomach in the field. The donkey became very happy as he got plentiful food of his choice.

Now the delighted donkey told the jackal, “Friend! Today I am very happy and I want to sing a song. I will sing a song of your choice. So tell me what song would you like to hear?”

The jackal got worried and said, “Friend! You should not forget that we are thieves. We have entered in this field secretly. If you sing the farmer will awake, come here and will beat us...”

He continued, “…It is not the good time to sing. Apart from this your voice is very harsh. This will make the farmer more angry.” The donkey did not like the jackal’s advice.

The donkey said angrily, “You have no idea what the music is. I know what to sing and how to sing. Nothing on this earth can stop me from singing…”

He continued, “…You stay here and hear me singing then only you will get to know about the real music.” Now he started singing.

As soon as the donkey started singing the jackal ran away quietly from that place. He had smelled the danger. He had pity on the foolishness of the donkey.

The farmer got awakened to hear the donkey braying. The farmer understood in no time that a donkey was grazing in his fields secretly. He became angry and ran towards the voice.

Now the farmer arrived to the place where the donkey was braying continuously and saw the eaten and destroyed crops. He became furious.

The farmer started beating the donkey badly with a stick. The donkey felt as if the sky had fallen down on his head. The donkey was crying with pain.

After beating a lot, the farmer left the donkey there and went away in his hut. He somehow managed to stand on his feet and came out of the fields. There he found the jackal waiting for him.

The jackal smiled and said, “Friend! I told you not to sing but you didn’t agree. Always remember that the right place and timing is very important when you do something. Think twice when you do something otherwise you may have to repent afterwards.”
