the real Britpop's greatest miracle is The Stone Roses! For bands that only have two albums (one special and one mediocre), the adoration of the band comes to an unreasonable level and with somewhat comical excesses (fishing hats, joget shampoo, rocking monkeys?). The Stone Roses is not a political band like The Smiths, who in addition to having more albums, is also more diligent campaigning vegetarianism and anti-monarchy for example. The lyrics of The Stone Roses - outside of "Elizabeth My Dear" and the abstract painting of Jackson Pollock John Squire's interpretation of the political landscape of Britain in the late 1980s-more about non-specific sentiments about love and affection with a rather awkward metaphor; elephants, waterfalls, rocks and cinnamon.

With a rocking monkey and a swagger, Ian Brown is very difficult to say as a charismatic frontman. Guitarist John Squire is also not a boundary violator or an innovator in rock. If instead of being possessed by Jimi Hendrix's ghost with a completely measurable distortion and wah-wah, John is more likely to walk on the path pioneered by Johnny Marr, giving a minimal palette sweep to give a "Sugar Spun Sister" texture.

The band's career path also follows a surprisingly linear progression; made second-rate demos at Garage Flower, before getting better in the "Sally Cinamon" era, creating an amazing single of excellent Elephant Stone before graduating into a top quality band at The Stone Roses. Their two full albums The Stone Roses and Second Coming, is not a flawless masterpiece. In fact, the one who deserves the title of the masterpiece is actually the first album, even if we only counted the six main compositions outside the filler such as "Bye Bye Badman," "Sugar Spun Sister" or "Do not Stop."
