ping.exe offers a familiar interface for your ICMP ping needs. Use it to check if your hosts are online or if your device is connected to the internet using quick and efficient user interface.
Faux Mode: Note on Samsung Devices on Android 4.3
After upgrading to Android 4.3, my Samsung Note 2 is unable to run ping.exe properly. I mostly use this app to check if my device can access the internet and toggle my radios if I can't. To cater for this use-case I have decided to include a "Faux Mode" that emulates ping behaviour by connecting to the DNS server 8.8.8.8 over TCP. This will be automatically be used when the app detects that ping cannot be used. To emphasise, in "Faux Mode" it is not ICMP Ping and shouldn't be used for network diagnostics but can be used to see if the device running this app is online or not.
