ENERGÍA NUCLEAR 360º (VR)

Did you know that nuclear energy has been used in Argentina since 1950 for peaceful purposes? And since then many benefits have been obtained in fields such as health, industry, agriculture, care for the environment and energy?

With this virtual reality app you can explore what are the main uses of this technology in our daily lives, as well as learn about the concept of fission and see how a chain reaction occurs.

ENERGÍA NUCLEAR 360 is an educational content developed by the Social Communication Management of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) that seeks to bring science and technology closer-in particular, the peaceful applications of nuclear energy in Argentina-to young students, their teachers and families.

It is the first 360-degree immersive content that accounts for the many benefits and uses of nuclear technology in everyday life for Spanish-speaking users. Through a tour consisting of three scenes - a first one completely designed in a 3D environment and two others filmed with stereoscopic video - the user is given the possibility of being a protagonist and discovering "by their own means" what it is and what it is used for this energy.

The content allows to know about uranium and the concepts of fission and chain reaction, the energy equivalences with other fuels, as well as, the main applications of nuclear energy in health, energy, agriculture, industry, care of the environment and the conservation of cultural heritage, among others.

Thanks to the active and playful role that virtual reality supposes, this development is presented as a powerful and novel educational resource that we hope will help to communicate in a didactic and attractive way this topic, often considered complex to be addressed through other supports and resources.
