DIZQUIZ is aimed at all those who would like to speak neutral Italian, who would like to learn Italian diction, or the pronunciation of Italian words:

- Elocution students, actors, dubbers, speakers, journalists, presenters, YouTubers, and more generally anyone who wants to undertake a career that involves the use of the voice in public.

- Foreign students of advanced Italian who want to explore the differences between written and oral Italian.

- Anyone who feels the need to deregionalize their pronunciation of Italian.

DIZQUIZ does not want (and cannot) be a substitute for a complete diction course, but it is an additional tool that allows you to improve your knowledge of Italian by submitting a series of words that you may have learned to pronounce in the form of a quiz. in a non-standard way.

With CHALLENGE mode you will unlock new words, by choosing REVIEW you will only be asked for the unlocked words: you decide when you really know how to pronounce a word correctly, and by excluding it from the list you can concentrate on the others.

By choosing a word from the PROGRESS list you can exclude it or include it in the list of words to review: you can always change your mind!

This application contains around 200 commonly used words, chosen exclusively from the Fundamental vocabulary of the Italian language, among those in which the tonic accent falls on a "critical" vowel (e, o) or in which the letters s and z are present, particularly placed tested by regionalisms.

Normally each word has only one tonic accent, however in the case of compound words it may happen that two are declared. If no accents are declared, the vowel is assumed to have a closed sound.

The phonetic transcriptions in this application mix the characters present in the Italian Alphabet with some characters from the IPA phonetic alphabet: the legend of the characters with the related sounds is accessible from the main menu, and at any time by pressing in the top right corner of the 'application.

Since the language is a dynamic system in continuous change, the phonetic transcriptions reported are to be considered valid until proven otherwise.
