The demand for paper picture frames has increased as creating scrapbooks became more and more popular. The idea of placing your picture in a frame with decorations complementary to the theme of the photo is both new and exciting. You can add embellishments and make the frame as personalized as the picture. Not only that, paper frames are also cheaper than their metal or wood counterparts. They also are durable in their own right since they don't chip or rust like the wood or metal version.

Another great thing about frames made of paper is that they're safe for babies to play with. Of course, it's better if babies don't play with frames, but should they be able to grab hold of one, there's no risk of them poking their eyes or cutting themselves. Paper frames are also recyclable so you know you're helping the environment in your own small way.

Paper frames come with their own drawbacks, though - they're neither water nor fire proof. You can't put your frames near the stove or the fireplace, or next to flower vases or sweating glasses of water. Cleaning should also be done with care. You can't just dump them in a tub of water for a scrub; you should use damp or dry cloth to wipe dust off your frames.

However, if you want to take a crack at making your own frame using paper, all you need is corrugated paper, glue, a pencil, a ruler, a pair of scissors, and your choice of decorations. First thing you need to do is measure the picture you'll be placing in the frame and checking if it's landscape or portrait. You don't want to place a landscape photo in portrait frame
