Brief about him:

Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdul Aziz al-Sudais ('Abd ar-Rahman ibn'Abd al-Aziz as-Sudais Hanbali), born in 1960 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) is the Grand Mosque imam in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, a rejected qayri '(the recitation of the Qur'an), and was the "Dubai Islamic Language Personality" of the International Koran in 2005.

Life and Career:

He came from the Anza clan, and he had memorized the Koran by the age of 12. Growing up in Riyadh, he studied at Al Muthana Bin Harith Elementary School, and then the Riyadh Scientific Institute from where he graduated in 1979 with excellent grades He earned a bachelor's degree in the field of Shariah from Riyadh University in 1983, his master in Islamic fundamental from the Islamic University of Syariah Islamic University Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1987 and received his Ph.D. in Sharia Islam from Umm al-Qura University in 1995 while working there as an assistant professor after a job at Riyadh University.

He took his Imamate in 1984, only 22 years old, and his first sermon at the Grand Mosque in Mecca in July 1984, in addition to Sheikh Saud Al-Shuraim - had been his partner in Tarawee's prayers from 1991 to 2006, and again in 2014 .

In 2005, he was appointed by the International Al Quran Organizing Committee of Dubai (DIHQA) as the "9th Anniversary of Islamic Personality" in recognition of his devotion to the Qur'an and Islam. When receiving his award in Dubai, he said: "The message of Islam and Muslims is humility, justice, security, stability, sympathy, harmony and kindness."

From 2010 to 2012 he visits India, Pakistan, Malaysia and the UK. Among his activities has hosted a seminar at the Higher Institute for High-Level Islamic Studies in Malaysia in 2011, where he spoke of Islamic civilization against a background of modern challenges.

Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais was appointed head of the "Presidency for Two Holy Mosques at the ministerial level" with a royal decree on May 8, 2012. References (Wikipedia).
