Domino (or domino) is a game that is played with a rectangular "domino" tile. The domino game pieces make up a set of dominoes, sometimes called decks or packages. Traditional Sino-European domino set consists of 28 dominoes, colloquial language dubbed bones, cards, tiles, tickets, rocks, or spinners. Each domino is a rectangular tile with a line dividing the face into two square edges. Each end is marked with a number of dots (also called pips, nips, or dobs) or empty. The domino backs on the set are indistinguishable, either empty or have some common designs.

The traditional set of dominoes contains one unique piece for each possible combination of two ends with zero for six places, and is known as a double-six set because the highest-value slice has six pips at each end ("double six"). Places from one to six are generally arranged as in six-sided dice, but since there are also empty ends with no spots there are seven possible faces, allowing 28 unique pieces in two six sets.

The most popular type of game play is the layout, which falls into two main categories, blocking games and printing games.
