Note that this app is just for Android Lollipop or newer.

Battery Saver mode reduces your device's performance to improve battery life.

This feature extends your battery's life up to 90 minutes.

More specifically it will limit the following:

 •  Screen brightness

 •  Animations

 •  Background data like email, messaging and other apps that rely on syncing may not update unless you open them.

Note that Battery Saver turns off automatically when your device is charging.

Note as well that in order for Google to make sure that you remember you have your batter saver on it adds a persistent notification icon and turns your system bars into an orange color.
