"Angels of Byzantium" is a mere glimpse, and for some and introduction into the glorious art of the Byzantine Empire. It features religious icons written in the traditional manner which has been handed down into the twenty first Century by devout and inspired painters who adhered to an ancient lexicon of images and a grammar of forms.

The images in this app are primarily devotional, they are not necessarily decorative, nor are they "Art". They transcend both to capture a metaphysical reality; i.e. The Divine.
