Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, commonly referred to as Corinthians, or by its acronym

SCCP, is a Brazilian multi-sports club in the city of São Paulo, capital of the state of São

Paulo. It was founded as a football team on September 1, 1910 by a group of workers from

the Bom Retiro neighborhood. Its name was inspired by the Corinthian Football Club in

London, which toured Brazil.
