Have you ever been offhandedly without shopping list in the supermarket or grocery store in order to purchase ingredients for cooking food and found out that

a) your favorite cooking recipes are not in your mind

b) you have no idea what ingredients are in your pantry and if they are within the best by date or already expired?

If so, you just came across the solution!

CookMann is a management application which helps you to keep track of your food storage and compares it against your favorite cooking recipes. It tells you what food recipes are ready to cook with the storage food in the pantry or what you have to purchase in the supermarket for cooking a given recipe when doing grocery shopping.

The cooking management app is structured in four sections:

1: STORAGE lists the cooking ingredients you have in storage. It gives the amount and indicates by color coding whether it is still well before the best by date or the expiring date is already near or over. Thus it helps to prevent food waste.

2: SHOPPING LIST is the grocery list when you buy food. When bought pressing the 'Buy it' button will automatically move the ingredients to storage.

3: RECIPES holds your personal recipe book. The recipes are compared against storage and it is displayed whether cooking the recipes with ingredients in stock is possible. If not it gives the number of food items to buy. With enough ingredients in the storage pressing the 'Cook it!' button will display the recipe for cooking and finally adjust consumed food items in the storage. With missing ingredients the app will forward you to a menu where you can put the lacking ingredients to the shopping list which you can use for grocery shopping. Both functions allow for a flexible adjustment of portions or change of amount of individual ingredients.

4: DEFINITIONS finally holds the basic information on the ingredients. The user has to define here things like whether it has an expiry date or in which amounts he usually buys this ingredient.

You configure the application according to your needs. There are no preset recipes or ingredients as this app is meant to help people who don't want proposals on cooking but want to manage their actual cooking. The setup might be a small effort but you will be rewarded with personalized assistance.
