The language of Bali itself is actually almost similar to Javanese. The similarity can be seen from the existence of three levels of language in everyday conversation. There are Balinese language Alus, Intermediate Balinese and Rough Balinese.
Each level of language is used at different moments, depending on who the other person is facing. If our interlocutor is an older person and also respected, it is appropriate to use Bali Alus language to communicate. However, if the person you're talking to is a peer or hanging out, rough Balinese is enough to make communication run smoothly.
