Wikisource is a wiki, which is a dynamic website that allows anyone to edit pages, the purpose of which is to create a multilingual digital library. This work is done by volunteer contributors.

Its content
Three general principles delimit the content of Wikisource.
1. Already published texts.
2. Texts in the public domain or under free license.
3. Texts conform to an edition.
What do we include?
Books, manuscripts, press and magazines, songs and booklets.
Original texts free of rights and already published before. The published reference text is preferably the last full version reviewed by the author, but several significant versions of the same text may coexist.
Translations free of rights or carried out by contributors, provided that they do not appropriate the translation, which is a collective work of Wikisource.
Statistical data such as election results.
Bibliographies of the authors present in Wikisource.
What do we exclude?
This is a partial list of the documents we wish to exclude.
All that is a copyright infringement.
The original writings of a contributor of different projects that would not have been published elsewhere on paper.
All comment type notes written by contributors.
Self-published books.
Articles and blog posts and participatory sites.
Quotations or short excerpts of works under copyright, even if the right of short quotation authorizes the reproduction of these texts.
Cases of translations by contributors

"Wikisource allows you to work collectively on the translation of a work. The original work must meet the criteria of Wikisource (have already been published and be in the public domain or under a free license). [...] translation is considered to be the collective work of Wikisource contributors, even if it would be the result of the work of only one contributor. "
