The "History" subject in this book examines humans in time and space, especially in the Indonesian context. In line with the end of the History Learning Outcomes (CP) objectives, history learning that is oriented towards natural thinking skills will encourage the formation of independent humans who have historical awareness and are in line with the Pancasila Student Profile.

The learning presented aims to train students to understand the character of historical science while developing a mindset and historical skills, especially Indonesian history. This book is part of the social studies textbook for class X SMA, but there are several modifications that have been adapted to the needs of vocational school students.

History as a science that studies events, people and society in the past, seeks to convey it in an interesting and contextual way to the present. The hope is that students will be interested in studying history, not because it is required in the curriculum structure. However, students need to study history to gain knowledge for the good of the present and future. One of the messages conveyed in this book is that the past is always current with the hope that students will be enthusiastic about learning and gain the benefits of studying history.

At the end of learning, students are expected to have historical concept skills, historical thinking skills, historical awareness, historical practical skills and historical research. Recommendations for research projects are presented at the end of the book as a medium to facilitate student competency. This book is prepared based on learning outcomes from the curriculum which carries the spirit of independent learning. This curriculum emphasizes competency aspects, including attitudes, knowledge and skills, which are delivered in an integrated manner through materials, activities and learning projects.

Evaluation, reflection and Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions are presented integratedly through materials, activity sheets, enrichment, project recommendations and evaluation. References are presented at the end of the book to inform readers so they can continue their studies from various references. Concept explanations are presented in each related material, making it easier for readers to understand the meaning of the concept or theory.
