The song "Ocean Eyes" that she uploaded to SoundCloud in 2015 gained her attention, Interscope Records, the subsidiary of Darkroom, released the album later.
Finneas, with whom she collaborates on music and live shows, wrote and produced the song.
In the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, her debut EP, Don't Smile at Me (2017), reached the top 15.
