Camila Cabello was born in Cuba on March 3, 1997. By the time she was five years old, Cabello had lived in Havana and Mexico, before relocating to the US. Cabello auditioned for The X Factor in North Carolina.

She first auditioned for the producers' part of the audition and got the call back saying that she will audition for the judges as an alternative, meaning that if after the show, if they were to have time, she would be able to audition. She was given four “yeses” and allowed to move on to the competition.

Eventually, she, along with Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Lauren Jauregui and Normani Kordei were tapped to form multi-platinum girl group Fifth Harmony.

The group has released many chart-toppers including “Sledgehammer,” “Worth It,” and “Work From Home.” The group also went on to release an EP in Spanish. Camila stated that her family was shocked to see Fifth Harmony on the charts alongside popular Spanish artists that she has been looking up to since she was a child.

Cabello also collaborated with Canadian artist Shawn Mendes on their hit “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” as well as American rapper Machine Gun Kelly as side-projects from Fifth Harmony.
