Antimicrobial stewardship

This app is developed by Dr. Ahmad Najmi, MD, MBBS, Assistant Professor of

Pharmacology at AIIMS Bhopal. Our objective is to promote the rational use of

antimicrobials by applying the principles of Antimicrobial Stewardship. We also want to

create an awareness of Antimicrobial stewardship among paramedical staff. Antimicrobials

are precious life saving drugs, so it is important to use them in a judicial manner.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major public health challenge all over the world.

Irrational use of broad spectrum antimicrobials, excessive use of antibiotics for veterinary

use, self medication, more reliance on empirical therapy, underutilization of microbiological

facilities, availability of over the counter antibiotics & lack of proper vaccination coverage

are some of the factors responsible for antimicrobial resistance.

This application is not an official application by any government agency but a personal effort

to create awareness & education regarding Antimicrobial Stewardship. We do not claim any

propriety on the National Treatment Guidelines or any other government guidelines. We urge

users of this application to confirm the antibiotics & their dosage with standard textbooks &

reference documents. The author of this application will not be responsible for any claim

whatsever.
