ActiveHip+

ACTIVEHIP + is an educational and tele-rehabilitation program for patients who have undergone surgery after suffering a hip fracture or have needed a hip replacement, which also includes a specific section of training and advice for their caregivers.

The objective of the program is to improve the functional recovery of people who have undergone surgery, favoring their independence to carry out activities of daily life and helping to improve their quality of life. At the same time, it is an advice and training tool for caregivers, which seeks to reduce injuries in caregivers and improve their quality of life for caregivers. ACTIVEHIP + is also a program designed to prevent falls and secondary fractures.

The telerehabilitation program offers two weekly sessions of physical exercise and one of occupational therapy, graded in difficulty and supervised by health professionals, who adapt and modify them, individualizing the treatments according to the needs of each person.

The educational content includes descriptions of the type of operation, care of the surgical wound, recommendations prior to discharge and when arriving home, dietary recommendations, support devices to use during the first weeks to perform activities of daily living, and recommendations to prevent falls and prevent secondary fractures such as home adaptations, drugs and physical activity.

The program has been designed by occupational therapists, nurses, family doctors, physiotherapists, trauma doctors, rehabilitation doctors, nutritionists, and graduates in science of physical activity and sports.

ACTIVEHIP + also includes a video call and messaging system between users and healthcare professionals.
