New extensions for Apple iPads and iPhones
The introduction of iPhones and iPads into an organization can present new challenges to an IT department. Avalanche now supports these devices through a secure client enrollment system to allow end-users to receive policies from a central management system. Once enrolled, administrators are able to track devices and receive key information about the devices under management, including location, platform data, battery levels, Wi-Fi status, Bluetooth™ information and more. Devices can be located on street-level maps and, should they become lost or stolen, be wiped or locked remotely.
Advanced Policy Control
Avalanche has been further enhanced with a new policy control system targeted specifically at the needs of iPhone, iPad and mobile smartphone users. Policies may be created, revised and deployed for iPhone, iPad, Android and BlackBerry devices covering areas such as VPN configuration, Wi-Fi connection parameters (including 802.1X) and Application Restrictions. Administrators are now able to limit access to iPhone, iPad and smartphone peripheral devices, such as the camera, or limit the content that may be received via the client browser.
