The heart of the Kingdom of Denmark.
The meadow. The city. The castle. The square. The square alone where Christian III had his knights demonstrate their superior military power and force. You can see it all today. You can walk along the same streets. Visit the castle. Enjoy the food. In Nyborg, you literally follow in the footsteps of more than 800 years of Danish history.
Nyborg is the heart of the Kingdom of Denmark. It was Denmark’s first capital. From here, kings and queens unified our kingdom. This is where the seeds of our democracy were planted. You can still visit the room where Denmark’s first constitution was signed. And the halls where Christian III sat as a pivotal force behind the reformation – the first step towards our modern society.
