Vijaya Bank Officers’ Union (VBOU)

Vijaya Bank Officers’ Union (VBOU) was formed on 15th July 1983 as per the decision taken in the 3rd General Body Meeting of Vijaya Bank Workers’ Organisation (VBWO) to have our own officers’ union to take care of the welfare and improvement of service conditions of the officers in Vijaya Bank. VBOU was immediately got affiliated to AIBOA. The AIBOA was formed during the year 1981 by the AIBEA in the background of the bitter experience of betrayal of AICOBOO, the then officers’ organization in the industry while fighting against the implementation of Draconian Bhoothalingam Committee D A Formula. The AICOBOO later took a new birth as AIBOC.

VBOU is sturdily growing and a very effective trade union of officers’ in Vijaya Bank. We are ably supported by VBWO, a Majority Union of Award Staff Employees, affiliated to AIBEA with its successive 8th Workman Director functioning in the Board of Vijaya Bank. We are an active union always taking timely action whenever our members are facing problems and also whenever the hard earned rights of officers through trade union struggle are under attack by the Management. Besides, the VBOU has got credit in successful implementation of a transparent performance appraisal report with a provision of appeal and review through legal battle against the Management which was a great sigh of relief to entire officer community in Vijaya Bank.

We firmly believe and continue to pursue the principle of working together which always works wonders and also inclusive growth of the Bank with better service conditions of all Vijayees.
