STYROFOAM

Egg, 4"

Green tissue paper

Floral-print decorative paper, two coordinating

Coordinating floral die-cut shapes"Happy Easter" rub-on phrase

Striped pastel ribbon, 1/4" x 1 yd.Spray glitter

White metal hinge

Pastel metal brads

Tools

Serrated knife

Candle stub or paraffin

Pencil

Ruler

Small disposable bowl

Foam paintbrush

Water basin

Paper towels

Scissors

Flower paper punches, two sizes

Quick-dry matte-finish decoupage medium

Paper glue

Thick, white craft glue

Instructions

1. Wax serrated knife with candle stub or paraffin. Cut foam

egg in half lengthwise.

2. Tear green tissue paper into small squares. Apply decoupage

medium to curved surfaces of one half-egg using foam brush and

press paper pieces to foam; gently fold paper over to cut side

of foam and glue to secure but do not cover center of cut

side. Repeat to cover outside of second half-egg. Let dry completely.

3. Trace one half-egg twice onto back of patterned paper and cut out.

Use paper glue to glue paper pieces to cut sides of half-eggs. Let dry.

4. Follow manufacturer's instructions to apply rub-on greeting

to large oval die-cut shape; glue to one half-egg. Glue

smaller chick die-cut to half-egg.

5. Adhere hinge between egg halves as shown; dip ends of four

brads into glue and push firmly into foam. Let dry completely.

6. Center ribbon length over hinged edge of egg halves and glue around

center of egg, leaving long tails for tying into bow; let dry.

7. Refer to photo to punch several flowers of each size from

patterned and solid sides of decorative papers. Layer flowers

with brads, dip brad ends into glue, and insert firmly into foam egg.

Spot glue petals to egg using paper glue, if desired. Let dry.

8. Attach one die-cut circle to each side of egg, over ribbon;

secure with brad dipped in glue. Close egg and tie ribbon into bow.
