Share your singing cover, receive feedback, gain promotion

Singer is a social network mobile application platform which allows and encourages young people to share their singing performances, exchange feedback and ratings about them, improve their voice and become famous with the opportunity of embarking on a new successful singing career. It is also useful for those who are interested in exploring and listening to different versions of famous songs.

The way Singer works is that you record your singing with or without karaoke, using only the microphone of the device. Then you edit your recording (you can re-record the part you didn’t like) and specify the name as well as the year of the song. The name of the original singer and 30 seconds of it (where you think is the best part) which will serve as a “demo” and simply upload it.

On the feed page you can browse latest uploaded different covers of users all over the world which you can filter by the needed criteria – genre, year, etc. Since it would be extremely annoying to browse 2-3 minutes songs long, the “demos” are shown as first option to hear (there, you can also view the rating and the number of people who heard it and commented) . If you are interested, you are able to click on the demo and the section of it will expand. There you can see a waveform, similar to the SoundCloud’s where you have the option to leave comment on every second of the recording or rate it as a whole from 1 to 5 stars. Therefore, the user who recorded himself is able to view all comments/ ratings and improve his singing by following the given opinions.

On the user profile page you can see all of the covers you uploaded and to easily manage all of the comments/ ratings you received so far – you can also find graph which can visualize your progress (taken the number of your covers being heard and the ratings you received). You can add a profile picture and short description also (optional).

On the search screen you can find the top singers who received highest ratings and those who are being heard the most. This is where you gain popularity. You can search for different users and navigate profiles to see their content, or you can search for specific song covers. Then you can follow them in order to receive the latest updates.

You receive notifications every time you receive a comment or new rating on one of your covers.

In addition, to make sure everyone will be heard, before you upload new cover, you have to hear at least one other recording and rate. The design of the application is similar to Instagram’s because most of the younger people are used to it and will find it easy and familiar to use.
