On behalf of the Executive for Te Hunga Rōia Māori o Aotearoa (“THRMoA”) we welcome you to our annual conference at the Millennium Hotel, Queenstown. The theme of this year‘s conference is - He aha te kai a te Rangatira? He kōrero, he kōrero, he kōrero - with keynote sessions covering a variety of kaupapa with a particular focus on leadership in various settings. There are also specific sessions and workshops on different practice areas presented by experts in their particular fields. The vibrant programme offers CPD hours on a variety of topics that are both unique and relevant to Māori legal practice. This is an extraordinary opportunity for anyone working in all areas relevant to Māori to network, engage, be inspired, and gain valuable CPD hours in the process.
As a not for profit organisation, we have to acknowledge our sponsors who have made this Conference possible, in particular our premier Aotea sponsor Westpac; our Toto Weka sponsors Chapman Tripp, Deloitte and AUT; and our Inanga sponsors Institute of Professional Legal Studies and Vo2. We also acknowledge the New Zealand Law Foundation, Konica Minolta and LexisNexis. We are confident that the standard of this year’s Conference will exceed expectations and will provide great value to our members, and all others involved in these important areas of the law. This year’s Conference is open to both members of THRMoA and non-members. We welcome all those working in those areas relevant to Māori that are attending the Conference and hope you enjoy the programme on offer.
