T'ai chi is an abbreviation of the word t'ai chi ch'uan, a martial arts and moving body technique that flourished in China. Taichi is very popular, usually done en masse in the morning in the park or open space.

Some people refer to Taichi as a mediation process wrapped in movement. His safe movement also makes taichi martial arts practiced throughout the world by various ages. In terms of health, according to doctors, taichi brings many benefits including improving balance, flexibility, stamina, blood pressure, heart health, mental, and symptoms related to stroke, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's.

Taichi Movement
Taichi on the physical level is a series of deliberate movements done slowly and cautiously. The exercises emphasize proper movement, breathing, and awareness. To understand taichi movements should be learned from experienced instructors.

In the present day, taichi is known as a martial art that provides many health benefits. Slow and low-risk movements make taichi an ideal exercise for parents or those with physical difficulties. Taichi is practiced not only in terms of sports but also aesthetic qualities with earthy spiritual components, incorporating Chinese yin-yang and chi concepts, or energy flows.

An independent study published in the Plus One journal in April 2013 found that taichi reduced rheumatoid symptoms, improved physical function in osteoarthritis patients, increased breathing, and endurance of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease as well as conventional treatment.

The journal Physiotherapy published in March 2012 also revealed that taichi exercises can reduce balance disorders in Parkinson's patients. In 2010 in the New England Journal of Medicine, doctors wrote that taichi is a useful treatment for fibromyalgia, a nervous disorder characterized by extensive muscle pain and fatigue.

Also in 2010, doctors reported in BioMed Central that regular exercise taichi improves psychological wellbeing including reducing stress, anxiety, depression and mood disorders, and increasing self-esteem.
