"Vote Check", is the main use of this app for civic GOTV purposes, as the app allows you to automatically (as phone rings) or manually look up to see if your friends voted early in ongoing Florida General Elections.
This app provides a caller ID function when the phone is ringing, it takes the incoming phone number and sends it to our database containing public records of voter rolls. If it finds the phone number in the database it displays the name and address associated with that phone number. It can also display political information such as political party or if the voter voted in the most recent election, however the display of that data is not guaranteed as we will be making privacy adjustments and changing what information is displayed.
The user may also manually search by name or address to find a voter record.
The following is not functional see our other app ShadowVote Connect (Finally, and best of all there is a recruiter option where by you may tag a voter with your own phone number, this data is sent to and stored in our offline database through an encrypted ssl connection. The idea is to promote civic activity by asking friends to vote but also by earning virtual civic points each time you get an new voter involved. As we track the voting history of every voter in Florida we can measure your exact effectiveness as a civic activist. To measure accurately you must tag each prospect with your phone number before they join ShadowVote, then ask them to join. We hope this will become and excellent tool for civic engagement.)
