One of the advantages of a text-based interface is that, when simply launching an application, it is not necessarily for the user to locate its icon. This is particularly true for less commonly used applications where the user has not put the icon on their home-screen, as simply typing the application's name is much faster than opening and scrolling in a potentially poorly ordered app drawer. Users can also launch websites and browser based applications this way by defining weblinks, making web content behave more like native apps.
Prompt allows users to give parameters to certain commands, which can be substantially simpler than working with graphical interfaces; For instance, if sending a text message, rather than waiting for the app to load, then scrolling to find a contact, and then having to tap a widget to start typing the message, one can simply input "sms" followed by the contact's name and then the message.
Prompt also gives the user useful information whenever they return to their launcher. This includes information about missed calls, and the current weather conditions.
Prompt is free to install and can be used indefinitely without any payment. After 30 days, some features will require Prompt premium, available through in-app purchase by entering "upgrade". Prompt premium does not expire.
Prompt is currently based on English, but being proficient in English should not be necessary to use parse, as only a limited number of English words are used, which are documented.
