BACKGROUND

1. Started on 16 February 16 as Whatsapp group to share information mainly about Lucknow theater events.

2. Later started posting about music, cultural fests, seminars, exhibitions, college fests, Yoga, Sports, basically all city events.

3. We are currently associated with various event organizing bodies like –

• Lucknow Management Association -LMA

• Institution of Engineers – IEI, Lucknow

• Indian Industries Association – IIA

• Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry – ASSOCHAM

• Association of Knowledge Workers, Lucknow – AKWL

. Indian School for Training & Development - ISTD

. Center for Clean & Green Energy Society - CGES

• Occasionally also get event invites from CII (Confederation of Indian Industries), PHD (Progress Harmony Development), TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), ROTARY Club.

Event invites from the above organizations are shared on the LEF (Lucknow Event Friends) network & non members accommodated like guests.

4. 7 FM, 2 MW & 2 SW radio stations operate in Lucknow. Event advertisement audio jingles are shared via Whatsapp broadcast lists.

5. Lucknow event related information is regularly scanned over Internet, Facebook, newspaper, hoardings & shared.

Lucknow is the cultural hub of central India. More than 50 theater groups are active. Bhartendu Natak academy, Sangeet Natak academy & Rai Umanath bali auditorium are active. Educational institutes organize various seminars, college fests. Art galleries like Lalit Kala, Kala Srot are active. In sports we have International Cricket Stadium, KD Singh babu stadium, BBD Badminton academy, Dhyanchand Hockey stadium. Dozens of hotels, 100’s of longue’s organize disco parties, comedy, music events.

SIGNIFICANCE OF LUCKNOW EVENT FRIENDS NETWORK

1. On an average 2-68 events happen in Lucknow daily but most people are not aware so we offer event information services via app & reminders can be set via "Add to Calender".

2. Event reviews save you time as pictures, videos, live telecast, write about event can be seen on your mobile.

3. Traditional media like newspaper, radio & ticket booking sites usually inform only about big city events having good advertising budget. We keep you posted even about small FREE entry events not advertised.

4. Newspapers write mostly about big events only when invited. Press reporters just click few pictures & present formal press release. We reach events without invitation, post real pictures, videos & if the show was bakwass write so.

6. Outdoor hoardings get more visibility. For example a city mandir has organized a bhajan kirtan program OR hospital is offering a free check up camp & put a hoarding somewhere, if someone from LEF network notices it, clicks a picture, share’s it on Whatsapp & its then uploaded on app. So even people not living in the area get informed. Also saves money for event organizer as they don’t have to put up hoardings everywhere.

7. If you are a foreigner or new to Lucknow we could help you connect by updating about various city events.

8. A belly dance performance by a Russian dancer at a local club had entry cost Rs 2,500. If you find this ticket pricing expensive you can get connected to us via Facbook page & enjoy pictures, video clips of the dance show.

9. MB Club, established 1899 has membership costing Rs 2 lakh & even then there are long waiting lists. Even club members may not have the time to visit the events, so you can stay connected with us over app, Whatsapp, Facebook.

10. Even if your friend is visiting a theater / seminar they usually post only some random pictures. In theater we share pictures, dance clips, DOD – dialogue of the day, press release & write a brief on the story. In seminars we do live telecast, make digital notes & share on Facebook. To prevent clogging your phone memory only event post links are shared shared via Whatsapp.

11. We help with event publicity. Whatsapp, social media advertising is cheaper & effective.
