RAR helps when you need to open received archives, reduce file sizes for sharing, or fix broken downloads on your phone. It brings packing and unpacking tools into a single mobile workspace, while also letting you handle basic file tasks without switching apps. As a result, everyday actions like organizing photos, sending documents, or accessing multipart downloads feel straightforward on a small screen. If you look for a trusted RAR APK, this app focuses on practical tasks that users do daily.
Broad archive support
RAR lets you create RAR and ZIP archives and extract many popular formats. You can unpack RAR including RAR5, ZIP and ZIPX, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, 7z, ISO, and ARJ. It also opens password protected and multipart archives, so large downloads or split backups are handled on the device.
Repair tools for damaged archives
If an archive is corrupted, RAR can try to repair ZIP and RAR files directly on your phone. Recovery records and recovery volumes help restore content from incomplete or unstable downloads. This reduces repeated downloads when a single part goes missing.
Encryption and compression options
RAR supports strong encryption to protect sensitive content in supported formats. It can create solid archives and use multi core compression to speed up packing and reduce sizes on capable devices. Advanced ZIPX methods such as BZIP2, LZMA, PPMd, and XZ are available, and password protected ZIP is supported for better compatibility with tools like WinZip.
Built in file manager
RAR includes basic file operations for daily use. You can copy, move, delete, rename, and create folders to keep storage tidy. When needed, you can also install apps from APK packages stored on your device, which helps when handling backup folders or transfers.
Official RARLAB build with benchmark compatibility
RAR for Android is published by RARLAB, the team behind WinRAR on desktop. The app aligns with the WinRAR benchmark and follows the same format standards, which aids consistency across devices. This official lineage helps ensure stable support for RAR formats and behavior users expect from the desktop tools.
RAR is developed by RARLAB, also known as win.rar GmbH, the company behind WinRAR. This origin helps users who rely on RAR archives across platforms maintain familiar settings and results on mobile. When choosing a RAR app download, confirm the publisher name to ensure you are getting the official build.
Language availability is broad, and Unicode filenames are supported to display and handle non Latin characters correctly. Users who want to help improve translations can visit the RAR extras page on the RARLAB website. These community driven updates help keep the interface accessible for more regions.
This quick guide covers basic tasks such as opening archives, creating new packages, and fixing corrupted files. It helps new users get started quickly after they download RAR on an Android device. The steps use simple menus you can access from the main screen.
RAR brings packing, extraction, repair, and simple file management to Android in one place. It is suitable for handling everyday archives from email, cloud storage, or local backups. For the latest tools and format support, install the RAR latest version when available.

Bugs fixed:
- RAR didn't issue an error when unpacking a truncated .tar.xz archive. Error status for truncated .xz archives was reported properly;
- RAR4 recovery volumes based data recovery was failed with seek error if one of REV files was less than 7 bytes. It happened even if other files were valid and allowed successful recovery.
