About ONRTV

English

ONRTV National Office of Radio and Television of Chad

Public service media created in December 1987 in exceptional circumstances, the TV Chad is one of two directions- the other being the direction of the Radio Chad up the National Office of Radio and Television of Chad (ONRTV). The National Television has five (5) sub-departments namely:

1) under the direction of the news;

2) under control of programs;

3) under technical direction;

4) under the direction of the antenna;

5) And under the direction of production.

Note that the last two are created in August 2011 and to raise one, the challenge of quality control by upstream different programs to disseminate and another to raise the production. TV has taken another dimension with the creation of satellite programs from December 2008, twenty services in different directions as were also created, all to make it efficient national television.

Faced with competition from foreign television which unfortunately give everything to consume because easily accessible TV Chad opted for local production, foreign programs being broadcast incidentally. The objective of this policy is obviously the valuation of our cultures but also make the television a crucible of national unity. In the same vein, in order to carry away the voice and image of Chad, the highest authorities have not skimped on how to fund the TV equipment of the latest generation and thus reach the level of other TVs. In addition to acquiring twenty HD cameras, the TV has three (3) vans for live broadcasts, two (2) satellite suitcases, one (1) Modern and ten workbenches, all digital . It also has a fairly stocked fleet that allows it to perform its mission without major difficulties: the duty to inform and educate people, to make visible the actions of the government, that of bringing issues to the company decision makers , that of bringing the leaders of the governed, that contribute to political pluralism, peace building and development. Thus TV has become indispensable hence its many anxieties.

In a world in change where the TV has become an issue, the government has also initiated a project to prepare for the transition to digital from 2015 meanwhile sent for training young people will return and the twelve-storey building before housed the ONRTV, will be delivered. This migration to DTT will probably be a revolution. However, all those experienced by Chad on TV, it seems to operate more or less preparation. However, some agents still need to be recycled. This is the challenge.

Introduction to Radio Chad

At the proclamation of the independence of Chad, the National Radio was a radio relay colonial AEF (French Equatorial Africa) emitting Brazzaville, Congo. It was not until 1963, following agreements signed between Chad and France, to see the Radio Chad become a national station. She enjoyed therefore management autonomy. But the Director was required to submit for approval to the Minister of Information messages to be broadcast. In addition, the Department of Radio and animation programs were provided, mostly by expatriate staff, including French.
