We take proud to inform you that the Sarvodaya Hospital Samarpan Blood Bank, Day & Night,

Voluntary started by the North East Zone Chemists Educational & Welfare Trust (Reg. No.:E-16777),

a trust of chemists situated in between Mankhurd-Chembur, Kurla to Mulund area in the year 1998

with the active support & fund required for starting up of blood bank project was 100% contributed

by the chemists only with a total dispatch of about 2,80,000+ units collected from 2,700+ voluntary

blood donation camps by 100% voluntary blood donors. 3500+ sq.ft State of art blood bank –

Charity in professional way, a UNIQUE CONCEPT IN ENTIRE WEST ZONE, service to humanity in

professional way-By the Chemists - For the Society

Samarpan in adherence with mission statement of National Blood Policy ensures easily accessible

and adequate supply of safe and quality blood, blood components collected and procured from a

voluntary non-remunerated regular blood donor in well equipped premises, which is free from

transfusion transmitted infections, and is stored and transported under optimum conditions and

issues it at following mentioned not for profit charges.

It has been our policy at “SHSBB” to constantly improve our services for supply of safe and quality

blood & blood components. Now, we are glad to inform you that we have introduced;

 100% Component preparation-Packed Cells, Platelet, Plasma for rational use of blood.

 LEUCO-REDUCED 100% components using indigenous top & bottom quadruple/triple blood

bags separated on Automated Component Extractor-NOVOmatic, LMB-Germany.

 Automated Grouping-Cross matching using Erythrocytes Magnetized Technology on

QWALYS, Diagast-France.

 FIRST IN MUMBAI - NAT-Nucleic acid Amplification Test by Real time PCR technology on

cobas s 201, Roche, the most sensitive fully automated first multi-dye technology presently

used worldwide for screening to maximize safety of the recipient.

 Aphaeresis (Single Donor Platelets) facility, lowest service charges in country in NGO Sector,

issues within 3 hours from donor selection.

 Counseling/assistance to Hepatitis B & C reactive donors.

 Strict QC & QA protocols, Monitoring for ATR-Maintaining database.

Further, we are also running Thalassaemia Day Care Centre Started in October 2008 by taking care

of 120+ Thalassaemic Children's residing and regularly visiting our centre right from C.S.T.-

Karjat/Kasara, Churchgate-Vasai/Virar & Thane/Raigad Dist. area are receiving free facilities

includes blood (RBC's) & transfusion set/scalp vein, transfusion under dedicated skilled doctor,

nurse/s & coordinator, required pathological-diagnostics tests twice in a year and medications to

unaffordable with personal touch, good hospitality to children's & their parents by blood bank staff.

Almost majority of above children's are transferred from other hospitals/blood banks, out of which

about 44 are sero-reactive (39-HCV, 3-HIV & 2-HBV) to whom we closely monitor for not adding

new sero-reactive. Renowned Child Specialist & Pediatric Haemato-Oncologist, Senior Onco-

Hematologist and Gastroenterologist has been associated with us and visiting on regular basis that

helps a lot to children’s for better result of their treatment and proper guidance thereon.

First innovative project in India by initiating treatment of 13 HCV reactive children’s who needed

immediate treatment under the supervision and support of above doctor’s and completed 24/48

week’s treatment of INTERFERON+ costing about Rs.Four lac per each children including diagnosis

and other expense and proud to inform that they are now HCV negative for which majority of

expenses were borne by our trust and some philanthropists/trust.
