- Featuring a constantly evolving lineup of artists with Michael Woods on colours and Luca Bertelè taking care of letters
Funplus' popular strategy RPG Sea of Conquest is venturing into non-game-related promotional material for the first time. Now, the exciting universe of Sea of Conquest will be available to both fans and newcomers in the form of an action-packed comic-book series, Cradle of the Gods.
The story follows the famous pirate Henry Hells and his childhood friends Lavender and Cecily on their journey across the Devil Seas. They come in conflict with the puzzling Ancient Order. The comic series Cradle of the Gods boasts an impressive production team led by writers Griffin Sheridan and Ethan S. Parker, known for their stint at Image Comics' Kill your Darlings series.
Art contributions will vary with Michael Woods taking care of the colours and lettering by Luca Bertelè. The first issue showcases stunning cover art by the Rome-based artist Simone D'Armini.
The release of this novel comic book surprised me. While Sea of Conquest is well-known for its awesome character designs and attractive pirate world, Funplus seems keen not to rest on their oars, or their doubtful YouTube ads. No doubt, a comic series is an intriguing experiment and an excellent opportunity to further explore the Sea of Conquest without stepping into bigger commitments.
