The game developers acknowledge that Layla is the character players encounter when they first install the game and she has been a part of Mobile Legends for seven years now. Despite receiving various updates, Layla remains an integral part of the gameplay experience and continues to be one of its main draws.

Layla will be the main revamped hero in Mobile Legends Project Next Express 2023 update
This year, Layla will be the newly improved hero in MLBB. The developers worked hard to ensure that she perfectly fits her backstory and becomes a great addition to the game.
Initially, they altered her outfit to make her appear like a studious schoolgirl with brighter colors and smoother textures since she is knowledgeable and neat. They also emphasized her gun because it's mentioned as a prototype in the game, which means that while it should look delicate, it should still be powerful. Additionally, they incorporated an attractive pendant near her waist that would remind her of fond memories of her mother. Furthermore, they added futuristic transparent glasses to give her an updated appearance.
Project Next Express 2023 update will also bring Heroes alter and backstory with other revamped heroes
We were shown the Spire of Knowledge, which serves as a reminder of an ancient civilization. The speaker then connected it to another area called Canal Quarter - essentially a large river that links Emerald Road in the west and Frozen Lake in the north. Additionally, there are underground ruins that hold evidence of past wars.
Other Revamped Heroes will be:
- Franco is undergoing some changes and these modifications will be evident during battles. His second skill has a fresh animation effect, but the most exciting update is his ultimate move called "suppression of chains" which can now be easily seen in combat situations.
- The next hero to be discussed is Eudora, who has undergone some changes in this session. Her lightning strikes now have a unique glow that enhances their appearance and adds beauty to them.
- Following that is X-Borg, who has now reached his maximum potential after undergoing a visual upgrade. While it hasn't been announced officially and is still in the testing phase, we can anticipate its availability on our advanced server shortly.
- Faramis will receive his next summer skin, which is a mixture of the Tenko theme and Hayabusa’s summer skin.
- Karrie will receive the next collector’s skin; it’s confirmed.
- Atlas will receive his next MSC skin; the animation and skill effects are very eye-catching.
