Fortnite is Adding Ranked Play in the Next Update
Fortnite announces the release of a highly anticipated Ranked system in their next update, taking the game's hyper-competitive gameplay to the next level.
Fortnite has been in existence for almost six years and continues to be a leader in the battle royale category. As time passed, gameplay became more intensely competitive with the inclusion of Arena matches, Weekly Cups, and big competitions like FCNS. However, Fortnite still lacks a tier-based ranking system that other games such as PUBG have already implemented.
There is a big update coming to Fortnite soon as Epic Games has just made an important announcement about the introduction of the Ranked Play. This new feature will be included in version 24.40 and will be accessible in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. The launch is expected within a few days, so players should get ready for it!
The beginning of Fortnite Ranked will start with Season Zero and will be accessible until the end of C4S2: Mega. This is a testing phase for Epic to evaluate the feature, make changes to some mechanics, and improve it for the upcoming season. When it's launched officially, players can expect rank categories like Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite Champion, and Unreal.
In addition, some ranks have subcategories. For example, Bronze, Silver, and Gold each have three subdivisions while the others only have one. Climbing to the top of this ladder is a daunting task that requires significant effort. As you progress towards Unreal by competing in Elite and Champion levels, you'll encounter extremely skilled opponents along the way.
The Season Zero ranking system is based on a player's previous match performances and their first Ranked Battle Royale or Ranked Zero Build Match. To receive a rank, players only need to play one game. Even if they lose, they will not be demoted until the end of the season while playing in the Unreal zone.
The most intense competition takes place in the Unreal rank because it assigns a ranking to each player based on their worldwide status. It's a challenge to reach the highest position, but can you achieve it before your opponents do?
