Navadgi's are the household name in the Business field of retailing in grocery since 1915. Co-founder of Navadgi's firm. Shri Revanasiddappa S. Navadgi started a small retail shop in the year 1915. Gradually they have become famous in retailing, because of their unique feature.

1) Unique Feature : The poners of the shop introduced billing system right from beginning i.e., immediately after the Bombay Sales Tax Act came into existance. A customer on his entrance into the shop, has to get his requirements billed, then pay the amount to the cashier and afterwords he has to take of the goods billed from the concerned sections and departments. This happens only when a customer has full faith towards the shop-keeper. Any complaint including the quality of goods etc. was addressed within three days from the purchase - transaction.

2) For this unique feature and systemised process, the firm was nominated and eventually conferred with the auspicious Jamunalal Bajaj Award instituted by FICCI (Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry) long back in 1970.

Key Principles of the Navadgi Firm :

a) No Price-Descrimination between the customers.

b) If there is any decrease in the price of any commodity during the day itself, it will immediately effected by reducing the price of that commodity at that moment only. However, if the price of any commodity rises during the day, it will not be effected by raising the said price of that commodity immediately and it will be effected during next working day. This practice is still continued till this day.

3) The firm is continuing its service to the customers in the same business for the last THREE (3) generation, with same Culture and Tradition. However, with the new Concept / Trade name 'Kalpataru Super Bazar' came into existance during 2003.

4) Kalpataru Super Bazar is a departmentalised self service store offering variety of food and house merchandise, meeting all customer required and providing them good quality goods at reasonable price.

5) In 2006, a new branch was established in Jalanagar, Bagalkot Road, Bijapur to meet the requirements of nearby customers and to serve them more efficiently and effectively.
