CELPIP Test Prep: Practice

An unofficial CELPIP practice app published by AZSoft. It does not represent any government body or testing organisation. Not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Paragon Testing Enterprises, the University of British Columbia, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), or the Government of Canada. CELPIP is a registered trademark of Paragon Testing Enterprises.

CELPIP-General is one of the English tests IRCC accepts for permanent residence and citizenship applications. It is taken in one computer-delivered sitting: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, in under three hours. Results are reported as CELPIP Levels, which map to the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) that IRCC uses.

WHAT'S INSIDE

▸ 1000 corrected multiple-choice questions (500 Listening and 500 Reading), written across CLB 5, 7, 9 and 10

▸ 1056 audio recordings in Canadian English, available offline: 500 Listening passages, 500 vocabulary clips and 56 Speaking model answers

▸ Reading material in the four official formats: correspondence, diagram, information and viewpoints

▸ 30 Writing prompts, each carrying both official tasks: an email (26 min) and a survey response (27 min), with model answers written AT the level, not above it

▸ 56 Speaking tasks covering all eight CELPIP task types

▸ 6 timed mock exams, each built to the official structure: 38 Listening items, 38 Reading items. Every band has one, and CLB 7 and CLB 9 have two papers each, with no question shared between them

▸ 500 vocabulary cards with audio and spaced repetition

▸ Smart review that finds the questions you keep getting wrong

▸ Trilingual interface: English, French, Arabic. The practice content itself is entirely in English, because the test is.

▸ A custom mock exam: your themes, your number of questions, your own timer or the official pace of the exam

HOW THE MOCK EXAMS ARE TIMED

Listening and Reading are published as ranges (46-55 and 43-56 minutes). The app uses the upper bound of each, so a mock is never tighter than the real sitting. With Writing at 53 minutes and Speaking at 15, a full mock runs 179 minutes, which matches the guidebook's "under 3 hours in one sitting".

WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO

Paragon publishes the correspondence between CELPIP Levels, CLB and the CEFR, but it does not publish a table converting a number of correct answers into a CELPIP Level: the real test is scored against Paragon's own rubric. So this app does not convert your practice accuracy into a CELPIP Level. It reports what it can actually measure: your accuracy per skill, per band and per mock, and which topics you are weakest on. An app that turned "78% correct" into "CELPIP 9" would be inventing an official-looking number.
