Grief can take a toll on your body mind and spirit - the recordings and information offered in this app are designed to help you calm your mind and restore your spirit. Though we all grieve in our own way, and there is no right or wrong way to experience loss, everyone can benefit from relaxation and mindfulness practices. If you are new to this practice, please be patient with yourself. Meditation is called "practice" for a reason - none of us have to be perfect (what a relief).
Based on the book "Mindfulness & Grief" (CICO, 2014) by Heather Stang, certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner, mindfulness meditation instructor and thanatologist (expert in death, dying and bereavement). Heather is an active member of the Association of Death Educators and Counselors, and is the founder of the Frederick Meditation Center in Maryland, where she offers mindfulness-based practices for grief and stress.
