First Aid is the help given to any person in emergent situations during sudden illness or injuries. Timely care can help in saving life, avoid worsening of situations, helping the unconscious, support in recovery as well as providing medical assistance. The basic life support system is to be followed in the order of importance so as to assist the patient with a proper approach. This will ensure that all the essential points are considered in rational sequence and nothing considerable is left.
The help depends a lot on the breathing pattern which should be at the normal rate. The normal breathing pattern for the adults is 16-20 breaths/ per min, children of 1-5 years is 25-40 breaths/ per min, for 6- 12 years- 16-25 breaths/ per min and for infants of 1-12 months is 25-40 breaths/ per min. If the breathing is normal then the recovery position through airway should be done.
