Leopard Lightning is a high performance network protocol analyzer (packet sniffer). It allows you to perform functions similar to Wire Shark from the convenience of your phone.
Leopard Lightning allows you to setup, start, stop and view network traces from your phone. It gives you powerful tools for finding the real cause of your network issues from anywhere in the world.
Leopard Lightning places your packets in a Microsoft SQL Server database for incredible flexibility when you return to the office. It also creates Wire Shark compatible trace files if Wire Shark is your favorite network tool.
Leopard Lightning uses a small footprint service that resides on a Microsoft node on your network. All packet processing is done on this computer allowing the phone to handle creating, starting, stopping and viewing the trace as it’s collected. All the heavy lifting is done at the server making the response at the phone incredibly fast.
Since the trace data is held in a Microsoft SQL Server database, it introduces an incredibly fast and powerful analysis element to add to your network toolbox. No more carrying a notebook computer everywhere you go and looking for a Wi-Fi connection when things go wrong. Stay connected wherever you are and be able to respond quickly to any developing situation.
Since the data is held in an SQL Server database it’s easy to serve up data to the web or use third party reporting tools to mine your data. Work your captures to get the data you need.
Developers, including ours, love this tool. Imagine being able to look at all your packet data as you develop your products. It’s interesting to note that Leopard Lightning played an integral part of its own development.
Leopard Lightning also records the network throughput for the last hour and presents it in chart form. If you see something of interest, simply touch the screen and Lightning loads the capture at that point. Notifications are issued if traffic exceeds a previous threshold.
