VibSweep

VibSweep is a calculator designed to work with seismic exploration Vibroseis activities.

The application calculates the sweep rate of an initial user entered Vibroseis sweep. From the user entered sweep the application will calculate the sweep rate. Users can then enter a new set of start and end frequencies from which the application will calculate a new sweep time which gives the same sweep rate as the initial sweep.

Such an application is used when seismic field operations adjust the field acquired sweep frequencies based on data return which is determined from the stacked data. If the start frequencies or end frequencies are adjusted to a more limited bandwidth, then the sweep time can be optimized to make operations more efficient while preserving sweep power per hertz which is vibrated by the Vibroseis units.
