Base-Seal® is a blend of buffered inorganic materials with polymeric characteristics used in soil stabilization. It can be used in combination with small percentages of dry additive Lime, Lime Kiln Dust, Cement, Cement Kiln Dust or Type C Fly Ash in order to achieve full stabilization and impermeabilization of the natural soils. Any of these materials can be used depending on the design requirements. All soils, with the exception of peat (A-8), can be treated with Base-Seal® eliminating the hauling of materials by using the in situ soils.

Base-Seal® enhances the characteristics of the soils encapsulating the hygroscopic moisture, converting them from a semi-solid state to a flexible condition with a higher moisture content, making them impervious to additional moisture (gravitational or capillary) and remaining flexible, resulting in a sturdy long lasting and smooth road base. Any type of riding surface will last longer than on conventional pneumatic road bases. Construction times are reduced dramatically and impact on traffic patterns are minimized accordingly.
