Spot2Find- your travel attendant in unknown places.

Spot2Find is a location based Android application that keeps track of your whereabouts and your favourite spots to visit. You can at any time see your position on the Google Map and get a roadmap to a spot that you have stored. Spot2Find can make use of the Google Map features such as Navigation and Street view.

In addition the app shows local weather information for your current spot as well as the spot you are planning.

Spot2Find can be used in many situations, such as:

For travelling. When planning to visit unknown places you can store their locations prior to the visit. The app helps you find the way to that place, no matter where you are. Spots to store could be your hotel, restaurants, shops, attractions.

Kid locator. For children to help finding the way to school, home, mates and other places. Conversely, to quickly locate the kid when he/she needs to be picked up somewhere.

You can plan, view, edit, store and delete a spot as well as attach a photo taken by the device's camera.

Required device settings:

Google app "Maps".

Internet connection, either cell network or wifi.

Usage instructions:

I AM HERE. Shows your current geo position -latitude, longitude, accuracy - and a corresponding street address.

Also the used location method is shown, that is GPS or Network positioning.

Use the "SET GPS" button to select either GPS or Network positioning. Return to the app with the device's Back button.

The "ON MAP" button shows your location (in the middle of) the Google map.

You can now store your current spot with the "STORE THIS" button. The next view asks for a spot name of your choice. The "SAVE" button stores this spot finally for further use. You can store as many spots as you like. Each one needs a unique name such as "Home", "school", "office", "Pub".

ROAD MAP. Now, being at an unknown spot you can request for street guidance to any of the spots you have stored. Simply tap the button "ROAD MAP" which opens a new view with a list of all your stored spots. Select and tap one name in the list and within some seconds the Google Maps will open up and draw a route between the spot you selected and your current location.

Whenever Google map is used all of its built-in functions can be used such as street view with compass information.

PLAN SPOT. Spots you plan to visit can be stored with the "PLAN SPOT" button. In the Address field, write a complete street address, a city name, a country, or just a name of an attraction such as "Eiffel tower". Press "SUBMIT" and a second later its Geo position (latitude and longitude) shows up together with a Spot Name field. The "ON MAP" button allows you to check that your submitted spot is actually the right one. If not, you have to specify the spot more exactly. Edit the name if you like and finally tap the "SAVE" button to store it among your other stored spots.

It may happen that submitting a name results in an error code. This occurs when Spot2Find together with Google services cannot find a Geo position for the name. In such a case, please re-define the name an try again.

VIEW SPOT. The "VIEW SPOT" button shows a list of all your stored spots. Selecting and tapping a specific name in the list will show all your previously stored details about this spot. You can now edit the name and address of the spot you are viewing. Additionally, You can take a photo with the device's camera and attach it to this spot. Finally, store all new info with the "SAVE" button. You can also check its location on Google Map with the "ON MAP" button. With the SHARE button you can easily send a spot location using sms, email, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or any other service available on your device (name and address may not be shared for all services).

CLEAR SPOT. The "CLEAR SPOT" button shows a list of all your stored spots. Selecting and tapping a specific name in the list allows you to delete this spot from the list.
