Solitaire

A simple implementation of the Solitaire game

I could not find a Solitaire app in the Play store which met all my requirements, namely:

- Using the "Select Source Card" with one finger, then tap on proposed destination with another finger. This allows you to hold the device in landscape mode and just use your two index fingers to control the card movements. I find that having to drag cards around the table is in-convenient, and forces you to release (at least partially) your grip from one of your hands. It is much faster and efficient to use the tap method to select a card, then tap on the destination for that card.

- Free, with no in app purchases, hidden agendas, annoying popup advertisements, etc.

- Source code available to customize it anyway you like. Source can be found under the Gallery link on the main MIT AI2 App page:

- Simple - just a base set of options, no fancy scoring or bells and whistles, and no connecting to the cloud to store stats, etc.

The basic features are:

- Only one screen

- Canvas and sprites should scale for any screen size and resolution

- Drag up anywhere on screen to reveal options

- Drag down anywhere on screen to hide options

Options are:

- 1 or 3 card deal

- Show Score

- Show cards moving (see the cards move across the screen, rather than instant moves)

- Game Auto-Complete (once all table cards are turned over, and the deck and waste piles are empty, autocomplete the movement of remaining cards to the foundations decks.

- Options can be changed during any one game without needing to start a new game

- The Android "Back" button - This is an Undo action, which will allow the dealing of cards from the deck to be undone an unlimited amount of times. Works with either the one card, or the three card deal option. No other undo operations are supported at this time. I plan to implement full Undo functionality in the future.

- It’s been designed to run in full screen mode, landscape only, with no title or status bar.

Known Issues:

Enabling the "Show cards moving" option may cause strange behavior on some devices, depending on your hardware platform. Leave this option disabled if you experience any issues. Or, you can modify the code yourself! The App was written using the MIT App Inventor 2 – A graphical based development tool that is easy to learn. Especially for beginners.
