Donn Sharer

Agency Owner

Donn Sharer is the president and agency owner of Sharer & Associates Inc. Donn graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and continued on to earn an MBA in strategic management from the University of Minnesota. Believing it is important to be a “student of the business,” he holds several designations including the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC).

Prior to founding Sharer & Associates, Donn served as President of Capital Professional Advisors, a financial services firm dedicated to supporting some of the nation’s largest accounting firms, and as the Vice President for Financial Planning at MetLife. Prior to that, Donn served as a Field Vice President for American Express Financial Advisors. He has been a leading spokesperson on financial advice appearing on over 50 major media outlets, including NBC, CNBC, CNNfn, the Wall Street Journal, Money, US News & World Report, Kiplinger, Forbes.com, CBSMarketWatch.com, and the Associated Press.

Donn is also an active member in our community. He is the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Achilles International and serves as a mentor for Menttium, a group dedicated to the development of promising women executives worldwide. Locally, he is a member of both the Monroe and Monmouth County Chambers of Commerce. Donn also serves on Allstate’s Regional Advisory Board & represents New Jersey on Allstate’s National Advisory Board.
