We believe that the first year of college is a critical time for the development of students as they begin to learn more about themselves and the world around them. Haller focuses on assisting students in developing a better sense of belonging by enhancing the first year experience.
Haller accomplishes this by defining and enriching three types of relationships that are key to the first year experience: student to student, student to residence hall and students to environment. All of this is done in an attempt to help first year students with one of life’s most pivotal transitions.
Haller improves first year students’ experience by providing them the necessary resources and social support to create a home away from home. Ultimately, this leads to higher involvement on campus, deeper relationships with fellow students, and a greater commitment to academic success.
