The sharing of Contacts information across the company gives everybody advantages. If one person in your company knows a product specialist in a customer’s organization everybody can find his contact information. Why stay isolated in your own mailbox, when you can grow your network by sharing Contacts with your colleagues.
By installing the Get in Touch App on your phone you will have a phonebook with:
• All your Contacts from Outlook
• The Contacts your colleagues have shared
• All your colleagues
In the App you can search the Contact or the colleague you want to get in touch with and you can then make a call or send an e-mail. With the Get in Touch App a Contact in one mailbox is a Contact for all employees. If you mark a Contact in your Outlook as “Private” no one else but you can see this Contact in the App. Easy and simple!
How it Works – the technical part
The App Backend is installed on a server in your company (typically the Outlook Web Access IIS Server). Everything works within your existing security setup. All contact information for colleagues are retrieved from the Global Adress List in the Exchange Server and contact information for external people is gathered from all mailboxes in your company. In the setup process you can choose to share external contacts or not. If you want to share contacts you can still keep some of them private (not share them) by marking them as “Private” in Outlook. The App is downloaded from iStore or Google Play and is installed on employee’s phones (iPhone, Android and Windows Phones).
