For my 1st assignment with App Inventor I decided to make a game called ‘ Gamble. You start the game with $100. And you have 20 turns to press the gamble button. Each turn you can make up to $10 but you can also end up losing up to $10 each turn. The app uses a randomizer to pick a number between -‐10 and 10. In the bottom left hand corner of the game it shows your high score. This is the most money you have ever made playing the game in one 20 turn run. Each turn you can see how many turns you have left, how much money you have made/lost as well as the total money you still have in your wallet. After your 20 turns if you have less than $100 in your wallet the screen tells you that you have lost as well as tells you to shake your phone. When you shake your phone you get booed. If you win on the other hand, your the phone tells you that you have won and to shake your phone. When you shake your phone a woman saying “yay” plays. When playing the game you begin to notice how it is very hard to keep your money over 100. It goes to gambling is not a very proficient way to make money as well as being a fun game of luck. I also used the vibrate motor in the phone to help the buttons have a solid sense of feedback. The game ended up being a fun challenge to make. The most challenging parts were most probably the high score system and linking the pages together for myself. I would like to experiment more with connectivity in my next app.
