About Kosmotopia

A calm interstellar drift. Explore, collect, upgrade, and never rush

Kosmotopia is a calm space game. You pilot a small ship through a procedural cosmos, drifting from one sight to the next, at whatever pace suits you. No timer, no score, no game over, and nothing you are required to do. Come back for five minutes or for an hour.

A cosmos that keeps going

The universe is generated from a single seed created on your first session, so it stays the same each time you return. Regions load around you, each with its own sky palette, its own families of celestial bodies and its own music. Most regions hold a planetary system: one to three stars at its heart, three to fifteen planets on a shared ecliptic, a few moons further out. Inner worlds turn quickly, outer ones barely drift. Each system carries a catalogue name derived from its seed, so you can find it again.

Between the systems lies the interstellar void: gas clouds, comets with coloured tails, asteroid fields, rogue planets and ancient wrecks. Travelling ships cross your path from time to time. They are harmless and indifferent, or they blink a light in greeting as you pass.

Flying is the point

Two thumbs, in landscape. A joystick to steer, one button to push forward, one to brake. Everything is smoothed, and the ship has weight. Every planet and every star pulls on you, so passing close bends your path. Let an orbit take you, surf it, slip away. Gravity is a caress rather than a trap, unless you really insist.

Collecting, without the chore

Your ship carries a magnetic collector. Fly close enough to a body and its resources tear loose and spiral towards the magnet on their own. Nothing to press: flying well is collecting. The whole game sits in the gap between close enough to collect and too close to survive.

Thirty-five resources to find, from iron and water ice to helium-3, nebula dust and antimatter. Deposits are finite. An exhausted site stays beautiful and worth visiting, it simply gives nothing more. The rarest materials sit far out, with comets and rare sights, so travelling pays where staying put does not.

Sixteen upgrades, five to seven levels

Resources feed the ship and nothing else. There is no currency and no merchant. Gravity shield, thrusters, retro-rockets, gyroscopes, magnetic collector, speed boost, stellar scanner, armoured hold, heat sink, on-board refinery and more. Each level lets you go further, fly closer to the spectacle and stay there longer. They are comfort, never permission. The shipyard repaints the rest: hull colour, accent, finish, fins, livery, canopy, running lights and engine glow.

Crashing is not failing

Come too close to a planet and the ship breaks up. The image softens, and you reappear. You leave behind half of everything except your rarest finds, which stay aboard, and the armoured hold brings even that loss down to nothing. Upgrades already bought stay bought. Nothing else is taken from you, and no attempt is ever counted.

Sights worth the detour

Auroras, star nurseries, singing veils, drifting jellyfish, leviathans, living constellations, ancient orreries left by someone. They appear on their own, they do not wait for you, and none of them asks anything of you.

Your own trail

A travel journal writes itself as you meet things for the first time, with no counter, no percentage and no grey boxes to tell you what you have missed. The galactic map shows the systems and worlds you have met, flat, in relief, or as a scene you turn in three dimensions. It looks backwards on purpose: no arrows, no objectives, nowhere you are being sent.

Leave the controls alone for a few seconds and the interface fades out completely, the camera drifting in slow orbits around the ship.

Quiet by design

No account and no sign-up. No advertising and no in-app purchases. The game plays fully offline and saves silently on its own, on your device. Playable in twelve languages.

- The U-turn now eases your speed down to a stop halfway through the turn, then picks it back up behind the new nose, instead of leaving you drifting backwards.
- The pull of nearby stars keeps working while you turn round.
- The U-turn button wears the same pictogram as the rest of your flight controls.
